Supplies:
1. Notebook (used exclusively for this class )
2. Folder (used exclusively for this class)
3. Pencil/Pen
4. Planner
**I will provide the Expert 21 textbook. This item will remain in the class.
Attendance:
Be here in a timely fashion and be prepared.
Excused absences:
It is YOUR responsibility to talk to me about what you missed and if you are allowed to make it up. If you fail to make up the work--I will see you in this class again next year.
Unexcused absences:
You will receive a zero for the day’s assignment. You cannot make it up.
Homework:
- Put simply, Expert 21 is a mainstream language arts class for the students that need a double dose. The student that is placed in this course is not reading at grade level as determined by MAP and MCA scores.
- The course includes reading literature and magazine and info. articles, completing real-world writings and projects, as well as learning communication skills for college or careers.
- In order to receive a diploma, 10th graders MUST pass the MCA. The typical Expert 21 student is just hovering around the "passing zone."
- Have you heard of READ 180? Expert 21 is the "advanced" class of this.

Homework:
- We RARELY have homework. I give ample time in class to work on assignments. The only time that you have homework is if you slack off and don't use your own time wisely.
- If you do what you are supposed to, work hard, and complete the work you are supposed to YOU WILL EASILY PASS WITH AN A.
